Job Description
Summary
Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP is looking for qualified candidates with a minimum of 2 years of recent litigation secretarial experience to fill the position of legal secretary in its Los Angeles office. This is not a position for paralegal. A qualified candidate must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work as a team player in a professional environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Preparation of legal documents
- Knowledge of California court filing/e-filing procedures
- Scheduling and calendaring deadlines, meetings, and appointments
- Excellent communication skills for correspondence with clients and attorneys
- Experience with word processing systems such as, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
- Assistance with miscellaneous administrative duties
- Insurance Defense, Civil Litigation, or Personal Injury experience required
In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

- Knowledge of legal/paralegal environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and multitask when required
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior legal experience is beneficial but not required
